Meet Dr. Paul Haggan
I’m a husband, dad, therapist, outdoor enthusiast and I love horseback riding with my family. I am also a licensed professional counselor in Argyle Texas and am in the process of expanding my private practice throughout Texas. I currently offer virtual counseling sessions to those interested in therapy in a highly confidential way.
I am passionate about providing help for individuals, couples, students and athletes to guide them through life challenges. I also have a heart for supporting parents that contribute to the growth of a teen or young adult. With an efficient support system, there is a better chance of achieving wellness and fulfillment.
How My Passion Developed
I can relate to the experiences of adolescence, young adulthood, college athletics, marriage, and parenting as well as the associated feelings of stress, sadness, grief and loneliness that go along with them. I very much relate to the difficulties that come with wanting to be at peace with myself and the thoughts that isolating or doing more would make everything better.
Growing up in a small town rural community, I often felt like I had to struggle and fight for everything I wanted and needed in life. Even though there were loving and caring adults in my life, there was still an opportunity for greater awareness and efficiency as I navigated life to and through adulthood. Now that I’m on the other side of the family, as a parent, I use my education and experience to help my children grow through their own adversity and journey.
My personal journey took time and effort, but working through conflicts rooted in adversity, I learned and appreciated deeper meanings and skills in getting through them. Now, I am determined to help others find the same value in adversity and the resulting well-being.

How I Can Help
I work hard to help individuals I serve feel worthy, valued and affirm importance regardless of circumstances. I enjoy helping you discover symptoms of living, reasons beneath each emotion, and equipping you with insight, so you can better choose your authentic path and courageously move toward your dream life.
The mission of Argyle Virtual Counseling is to fortify and encourage you to lead an authentic life by providing a safe and nurturing environment where you can be seen, heard, and valued. Through compassionate and evidence-based counseling, you will develop the skills and resilience you need to overcome obstacles and thrive.
It is also important for me to support students transitioning to and through college, parents developing children while leading their own fulfilling life pursuits, as well as, helping athletes better perform and enjoy their experience.
